About Post #77
History
Blake-Blackston Post 77 was granted a chartered on February 20,
1920. It was name for two MIA soldiers Nelson Blake and John
Blackston. Fifteen African American men that served in WWI had
the desire to organize a post in Easton, Md. They were Harry M.
Dobson, Russell G. Poney, Paul J. Brown, Robert J. Poney, Leonidas
S. James, John W. Camper, Walter O. Brooks, John A. Cooper,
Phillip Sherwood, Edward W. Gleaves, Charles Rich, Frank Burrous,
Harry Webb, William Coxen, and William J. Rasin.
Our Mission
The mission is to provide assistance to veterans and their
dependents and worthwhile events for the community.
